Description

ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Part of the exhibition “LOSING TOXIC PEOPLE IS A WIN”, BARBIE by Mateusz von Motz invites reflection on identity, appearance, and the roles shaped by other people’s expectations. Read within the exhibition’s exploration of masks and archetypes, the title evokes an idealised persona: recognisable, desirable, and defined by an image. It raises questions about when a role becomes a habit, and when the version of ourselves we present begins to feel inseparable from who we are. Presented as a framed digital print on glass, BARBIE opens a conversation about recognising these patterns and releasing the identities we no longer need to carry.

We only work with European manufacturers known for top notch quality and craftsmanship. We monitor our production partners closely to guarantee excellent working conditions.

We do not use fur and exotic skins in our products.

Our upcycling initiative combats waste by creatively repurposing surplus men's apparel from our partner brands into innovative women's fashion pieces, thereby giving these garments a second life and reducing environmental impact.
