Description

ABOUT THE OBJECT
BCH-101 by Daniel Mencel explores the balance between a flowing surface and a precise architectural frame. Its elongated seat curves upwards at either end, giving the bench a distinctive sculptural silhouette. Slender legs and horizontal supports establish a quiet rhythm beneath it, while darker wood accents ground the form. Made from oak and American walnut, the bench is finished with oil to reveal the natural grain. Traditional joinery and hand-finished surfaces bring attention to the material and its construction. Conceived, developed, and produced entirely in the designer’s workshop in Poland, BCH-101 is released in a limited edition of eight. A functional object with an independent presence within a space, made to last.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Daniel Mencel is a furniture designer and maker working at the intersection of craftsmanship and architectural thinking. His practice approaches furniture as autonomous objects within architectural space, with each piece conceived, developed, and produced entirely in his own workshop. Working with traceable solid hardwoods, hand-cut joints, and hand-finished textures, he maintains full control over form, material, and construction. Released exclusively in limited series, his objects follow a clear principle: no trends, no mass production, no unnecessary gestures. Only objects made to last.
