Through this process, the original images lose their initial context and become material for new meanings, associations, and narratives. Referencing the figure of Queen Bona Sforza, the work reflects on how women in positions of influence are represented, questioned, and mythologized. It looks at how images do not only reflect reality, but actively participate in shaping identity, authority, and social roles.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Untitled work
Transfer technique on cardboard
Mounted in aluminium sheet frame
Sheet dimensions: 18 × 14 cm
Created between 2023 / 2026
Artwork marking: S0000

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Waks is a Warsaw-based contemporary artist working across painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and video.
